Hotmail.com changes to Outlook.com

The world’s one of the largest email service provider Hotmail will now be known as Outlook.com. Microsoftchanged the name of Hotmail to outlook. Hotmail was still the number one email service provider with more than 300 million users. Hotmail covers approx 36 percent of market of
email services. The world’s largest email service provider Hotmail firstly was launched by Sabeer Bhatia and Jack Smith, later on it is bought by Microsoft in 1997 for $400 million. Microsoft first time makes a major change in their email services. The fast growing service of Google’s Gmail makes Microsoft to think about their plans. Google and Microsoft are a strong competitor for each other.



Features of Outlook.com


With the features below are also the reasons why Hotmail changed to Outlook ?
  • Outlook comes with a new design having a 60 percent of pixel and 30 percent message visible in the box.
  • Outlook brings up a new features connecting to Facebook and twitter. It will show you the recent status and tweets shared by your friends.
  • The user of Outlook can chat to Facebook users and to other sites.
  • The user of Outlook can open, edit and share his document like Ms Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc in Outlook.
  • The address of Outlook will integrate with Facebook and LinkedIn friends.
  • The most attractive feature is that users can make video calls without an installation of Skype.
  • Slide show view is provided in Outlook.
  • There is no limit of attached documents. You can attach as much as you can.
  • Outlook.com will itself detects the newsletters, offers, daily deals, social updates and store them in a separate folder. However, user can customize it.
  • The existing users of Hotmail can upgrade to outlook simply. The contacts, old emails, address and password will not be changed. The users can continue to send and receive email address via @hotmail.com or @msn.com or @live.com address.
